Experiance with kali linux 2.0

I took Kali Linux 2.0 and for the most part I'm really impressed with this Kali 2.0.  The most striking feature i noticed may be the redesigned user interface .This design really going to help with  streamlined work experience on Kali 2.0.And for our convenience there is multi-level menus , tool categories and much more.I think i missed my favorite item on Kali 2.0 its the bullet point items like tiles in windows 8

Upgrading

I decided to go with Kali Linux 2.0 after a long years with previous version which i don't like a little bit (oops some personal reasons). Once i downloaded Kali 2.0 from https://www.kali.org/downloads/

I have 2 options go with a upgrade or install from scratch .I decided to go with a fresh install (for dual booting Kali and windows 10). Even a small kid can install Kali 2.0 its very simple but if you are going to dual boot please make sure internet is connected to your PC while installing Kali else you will get into some trouble while installing this (Something with boot loader -There are some workarounds in some forums and they don't help me a lot.)once i successfully installed Kali Linux 2.0 its take control of my boot loader and " I'm like whoa  its dual booting" .As normal i selected Kali and after some black windows and some text I'm into the login area where my username is "root" and password "********"(something you entered while installing")and for the best reasons I'm into Kali 2.0 .
My WiFi is working (but keep disconnecting after some time interval)
battery performance OK (ya I'm using a laptop)
Graphics OK (later i messed things by installing nvidea driver but with help of terminal i pulled it back)

What didn't work

Most things just worked. All my programs opened without a hitch. This is to be expected, as most applications that work with kali previous version  should be compatible with Kali 2.0.

I only had an issue with one program. My ntfs formatted drive failed to open it gives me some error like "failed to mount blah blah blah"(I'm already said I'm dual booting ). After some terminal work rounds ntfs started to obey me and its open like charm( hell ya i defeated windows )

Kali Linux 2.0 Features

Kali 2.0 up-to-date in a global, continuous manner my problem with WIFI automatically goes away after some updates .When i started to work with Metasploit it seems like little odd because it loading faster on 2.0 later i found that its because Kali 2.0 supports ruby 2.0 like the officials said about Kali 2.0
"There’s a new 4.0 kernel, now based on Debian Jessie, improved hardware and wireless driver coverage, support for a variety of Desktop Environments (gnome, kde, xfce, mate, e17, lxde, i3wm), updated desktop environment and tools – and the list goes on and there is an inbuilt screencasting tool so that you can record desktop,and  added desktop notifications, so that you do not miss anything

Glitches

Most of the glitches that I've experienced are on minor, but they're still there. Some of them goes away with update.The default browser has some minor issues with more number of tabs open.(Im not including any of those advanced penetration tools glitches)

Early conclusions

Kali 2.0 is all set to become a daily operating system .its stable ,great performance ,and much more make it a beast. There are still issues to work out for early  version, but considering the number of hardware that Kali is designed for and purpose of this OS , my experience so far has been great.And for last when stability meats advance tools the beast becomes something called Kali Linux 2.0

This is my experience in 1 week (exams going on that's why late post and didn't get enough time to complete checking process but i will keep updating it )

As the size of hard drives increase, more people are using partitions to separate and store groups of files.

XP and 7 uses the C:\Program Files directory as the default base directory into which new programs are installed. However, you can change the default installation drive and/ or directory by using a Registry hack.

Go to :-

- Start > Run

- Type “regedit” (without “” NOOBS!)

- Go to this directory…
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

- Look for the value named ProgramFilesDir. by default,this value will be C:\Program Files. Edit the value to any valid drive or folder and XP will use that new location as the default installation directory for new programs.

some fake ids are only for fun and some other for a particular target.so if you want to know a profile is fake or not just cheak this
ya the first one "profile pic"mostly it must be a celebrties photo .if you zoom into the photo you can find out that the size of the photo is too small.also most number of fake profiles will be in the name of girls.(some smart girls often make fake profiles).
now for the second tip Description you can easily find out a fake id by reading discription mostly it must be a small sentence like "hii frnds am ****** am very freindly"such as.now for the 3rd one the freinds list mostly it contains males and some fake ids
now for the 4th and best one just go through their wall and you can find out that number of status will be less .it mostly contain ("***** accepted 25 freinds")now upto 5th one like pages number of liked pages made by the owner will be very less now 6th one albums their must be only  one or two simillar photos that he/she demanding its him/her.the last one if you are not a handsome boy or a girl and you got a freindreqest from a handsome ,sexy(oops) boy or a girl chek that profile for twice mostly it must be a fake..

on jan 2012 some of our freinds accidently caught a whole family(father,mother,son,daughter and 2 freinds)of fake id created by a smart guy.in this bulk fake ids only daughters and one of her freinds is only active .so beware of every profiles

are you running ZoneAlarm Pro and you didn't configre it well????

i think you are not on  LAN (connected to another computer in a network) you can use this guide it will make your firewall a superhero

open ZoneAlarm Pro and click to highlight the "Firewall" tab on the left  side . In the pane that appears on the right  side in the section "Internet Zone Security" set the slider control to "High" Then click the "Custom" button in the same section.

The next settings page is divided into two sections with tabs Internet Zone and Trusted Zone at the top of the page. Under the Internet Zone tab there is a list of settings that can be accessed by scrolling. At the top is the high security settings and the only thing that should check from there is "allow broadcast/multicast". The rest should be unchecked.

Scroll down until you get to the medium security settings area. Check all the boxes in this section until you get to "Block Incomming UDP Ports". When you check that you will be asked to supply a list of ports, and in the field at the bottom of the page enter 1-65535

Then go back to the list and check the box alongside "Block Outgoing UDP Ports" and at the bottom of the page enter 1-19, 22-79, 82-7999, 8082-65535

Repeat this proceedure for the following settings
"Block Incomming TCP Ports": 1-65535
"Block Outgoing TCP Ports": 1-19, 22-79, 82-7999, 8082-65535
Then click "Apply", "Ok" at the bottom of the page.

Back in the right hand "Firewall" pane go next to the yellow "Trusted Zone Security" section and set it to "high" with the slider. Click "Custom" and repeat the above proceedure this time choosing the Trusted Zone tab at the top of the settings page.

These settings can stop all incoming packets @ports 1-65535 and also block all pings, trojans etc... this will also stop all spyware or applications from phoning home from your drive without your advice
